Any reputable garage contractor should provide you with an accurate and detailed estimate for your project. You should expect the estimate to be correct with no major changes to the total cost. However, not all contractors are accurate in their estimates, and some may not include all costs in their initial estimate.

At Sussel Garages, we strive to provide accurate, free estimates every time. If unforeseen conditions or requirements are discovered after work begins, or if you make design changes after the estimate is provided, sure, some adjustments may be needed. But we always discuss these with you immediately. In most cases, our initial estimate will be exactly what you will pay for your garage. We don’t like surprises any more than you do!

As a full-service contractor, Sussel Garages can take care of every aspect of your project, from the architectural design to the completion of your new garage and driveway. This includes removal of your old garage, concrete slab, and driveway (if necessary), as well as removal of any other structures, such as fences, trees, and bushes. All debris is cleared, and any recyclable materials are separated for reuse. It’s a lot of work, but we promise to make the entire process as stress-free as possible for you.

Absolutely! As Minnesota’s largest custom garage builder, matching the architectural design of your garage to your home is our specialty. In fact, Sussel is the builder of choice for garages that are required to adhere to strict Historical Society design requirements. Our experienced design team has deep knowledge in garage design, as well as product availability and selection. Over the years, we have developed an extensive network of suppliers and installers. This network allows us to provide products and services many other builders just can’t offer.

Many factors come into play when determining the maximum size of a garage. At Sussel, we begin determining the garage size we can build for you during an evaluation of your particular property. We must also review your local city codes and ordinances before coming up with an answer. Our representatives are very knowledgeable in this area and can clearly explain how your local requirements will affect your garage design.

With Sussel, once you’ve finalized your garage design, and your city has issued the permit, construction typically takes six to eight weeks from start to finish (weather permitting). Larger and/or more complicated designs can take longer. Your representative should be able to give you a more accurate timeline for your specific project, and the project coordinator will keep you informed every step of the way.

We’re confident our garages are some of the most durable in the industry. With proper maintenance of your Sussel garage, you can expect many, many years of use and enjoyment. We’re so confident in our craftsmanship and materials, we provide an industry-leading, 20-year exclusive warranty. This is twice the structural warranty required by the state of Minnesota.
